Founding of Hachette & Driout Steelworks

Creation by two brothers-in-law, Félix Hachette (1841–1903) and Adolphe Driout (1845–1921), of Hachette and Driout Establishments, a copper foundry that also had construction workshops and engaged in sheet metal and piping activities.

The company's activities are evolving

Hachette and Driout is then recognized in sectors such as large iron and copper boiler-making, iron frameworks, copper foundry, malleable cast iron, and cast steel parts.

Reorganization

André Robert-Dehault, an ECAM and ESF engineer and a direct descendant of Adolphe Driout, took over the management of Hachette and Driout, becoming its President in 1976.

He initiated the modernization of the factory and led a sustained investment policy for over 40 years :

 

  • 1986 : Acquisition of an AOD converter
  • 2008 : Construction and launch of a new production unit
  • 2011 : Purchase and commissioning of a particle accelerator for internal part inspections.
