Founding of Hachette & Driout Steelworks
Creation by two brothers-in-law, Félix Hachette (1841–1903) and Adolphe Driout (1845–1921), of Hachette and Driout Establishments, a copper foundry that also had construction workshops and engaged in sheet metal and piping activities.
The company's activities are evolving
Hachette and Driout is then recognized in sectors such as large iron and copper boiler-making, iron frameworks, copper foundry, malleable cast iron, and cast steel parts.
Reorganization
André Robert-Dehault, an ECAM and ESF engineer and a direct descendant of Adolphe Driout, took over the management of Hachette and Driout, becoming its President in 1976.
He initiated the modernization of the factory and led a sustained investment policy for over 40 years :
- 1986 : Acquisition of an AOD converter
- 2008 : Construction and launch of a new production unit
- 2011 : Purchase and commissioning of a particle accelerator for internal part inspections.

CSR Policy

As part of professional equality, legislation requires companies to publish the results of the gender equality index, which is based on several indicators.
The criteria defined by law for companies with more than 250 employees include:
- The pay gap between men and women, assessed by comparing average salaries across age groups and equivalent job categories.
- The difference in the rate of individual salary increases (excluding promotions) between men and women.
- The gap in promotion rates between men and women.
- The percentage of female employees who received a raise in the year following their return from maternity leave, if raises occurred during their absence.
- The proportion of employees of the underrepresented gender among the 10 highest-paid employees.
The calculations carried out for the index do not allow Aciéries Hachette & Driout to achieve a score out of 100.
